After living in New York City, Kurt is happy to be back in Southern California where he was born and raised. His journey to the Pilates and GYROTONIC® work began while training to be a dancer. He graduated with a degree in dance from the University of California, Irvine where he performed pieces by Jose Limon, Billy Siegenfeld, David Allen, and was a part of Donald McKayle's "Etude Ensemble.” He also attended Pennsylvania Ballet’s Rock School of Ballet summer program and also Jacob’s Pillow‘s jazz program. While living in New York City, he was able to teach Pilates and GYROTONIC® to such clientele as Bette Midler, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's" Kyan Douglas and numerous Broadway stars and dancers. He received his Pilates certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning with Marie Jose Blom-Lawrence and his GYROTONIC® certification from White Crane Movement Arts with Lisa Marie Goodwin. With the demands and stress we put on ourselves, the importance of taking care of the body and spirit has greatly increased. Kurt believes the work done in Pilates and GYROTONIC® assists both young and old to better themselves. He hopes to pass on his knowledge to keep the body and the mind fit and strong.
